An introduction to throwing on the potter's wheel - no experience necessary
What to expect
Join Michelle at her garden studio in Carbis Bay alongside a friend or family member to enjoy an informal introductory session on the potter's wheel. Discover the art of pottery with Michelle as you learn the basics of throwing a pot on both a traditional Leach kick wheel and an electric wheel. Experience two very different but equally rewarding techniques in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Perfect for beginners looking to explore their creative side, Michelle offers a unique opportunity to craft your own piece of handmade pottery in Cornwall. Price of lesson: £65 per person = £130 a session which includes all materials, glazing and firing of one piece each. These will be ready for collection or onward posting usually 4/5 weeks after the session depending on Michelle's firing schedules. Additional fees payable on the day (if required): Postage cost £5 Additional pots £5 each Aprons and all materials provided. Best to wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and close fitting shoes. It's also advisable to have short fingernails and to tie up long hair. Alternative days/times are available on request. Suitable for over 14 year olds with accompanying adult. If you are unsure what dates would be suitable for the recipient, it is advisable to purchase an e-gift card. This will provide the recipient with a coupon code which can be used when they book their workshop online. Please contact me if you need further assistance with this process.
Cancellation Policy
The throwing workshops are suitable for adults and children over 14 years old (accompanied by an adult) and are aimed at beginners who have little or no experience of wheel throwing. Close fitting shoes are advisable. Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting clay on. Aprons will be provided. Fingernails should be quite short. Please contact Michelle for advice before booking a course with any health concerns i.e. back or mobility issues. To cancel or reschedule a workshop please contact me as soon as you are able or at a minimum 3 days before the appointment.
